Team Turbine is at it again ..

Here is your regular scheduled update from the Holly Plant Decommissioning Project Team:

We are still working on removing the Holly 1 Turbine.  This week’s news is about the removal of the low pressure turbine cover.  The following images show how the TRC, LVI, and Austin Energy team work together to remove this portion of the turbine.

 The low pressure turbine cover is being prepared for removal.

 A welder is cutting piping connected to the generators’ cooling system.

 This is what is left of the gas inlet piping system that delivered natural gas to each one of the boilers.

Note: If you look closely, the shearer’s cutting motion created a crimping effect on the 4 pipes below.
